Brief
The “Menhaj Art Higher Training Institute” designed an academic foundation program for music for children, which is an instrumental program based on teaching different musical instruments (piano - violin - clarinet - The saxophone - guitar - oud) and combines the quality of sound and correct playing and reading sheet music in a way that helps improve all elements of the educational process, including playing and reading, which helps the trainee reach a better performance level.

Target groups
- Children from 6 to 9 years old.
- Children from 10 to 12 years old.
- Children aged 13 years and above.
Program topics
- Study a musical instrument from the following instruments (piano, violin, guitar, saxophone, clarinet, oud).
- Study the shape of each instrument, its components, and an overview of the history of its creation.
- Study how to play the instrument in terms of (sitting - how to hold the instrument - how to perform on it).
- Study some drills and exercises that give flexibility to use the fingers or hands together in a gradual and increasing manner.
- Train the student on reading and playing simple exercises for the purpose of knowing the tones of the instrument, their positions, and the applicable fingers.
- Train the student on the rhythms and the note value in a simple and correct way.
- Train the student on developing the ability to concentrate between reading and playing rehearsals, whether with one hand or two hands at the same time.
- Train the student to perform and play some simple, interesting compositions that increase the child’s enjoyment.
- Train the student to increase the ability of understanding, which increases the child’s attraction and enjoyment of what he/she performs.
- Increase the student’s self-confidence and sense of responsibility while playing, which leads to raising the level of performance.
- Train the student on some of the most difficult musical compositions for some composers in different eras.
- Increase the child’s training load by increasing incentives and motivation to reach a high level of performance in playing the instrument.
- As for the module of reading sheet music: - Train the student on reading the musical scale.
- Train the student on reading the key of Sol and the key of Fa.
- Train the student on simple binary scales.
- Train the student on simple note value in the Noir unit.
- Train the student on reading notes on the lines and spaces in the musical scale.
- Train the student on reading notes and their note value simultaneously.
- Train the student on different melodic and harmonic distances, as well as simple triadic chords.
- Train the student on the terminology of Phonogram, shading, and techniques and ornaments of the instrument.
